    Data and Research Associate Job Description

    The Data and Research Associate will play a key role in supporting ALA’s Institutional Learning team. This role is essential for maintaining and managing critical information about ALA’s alumni and its wider impact. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all alumni and scholar data is up-to-date in Salesforce, ALA’s chosen CRM system. This is a short-term contract position, and while repetitive in nature, it requires a meticulous and dedicated individual who understands the value of accuracy in data handling.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Alumni Database Management
      • Update the database of over 1,600 ALA alumni in Salesforce.
      • Gather data primarily from publicly accessible LinkedIn profiles and other sources.
      • Perform desktop research to ensure data accuracy and triangulate information when necessary.
    2. Data Capture for Mastercard Foundation Scholars
      • Update employment and internship data for more than 3,000 scholars.
      • Manage entries in Salesforce to keep records current and comprehensive.
    3. Ad-hoc Data and Research Tasks
      • Conduct additional data capture and reconciliation tasks as required.
      • Collaborate with the Institutional Learning team to meet data-related project needs.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Minimum Experience: Associate level

    Key Skills:

    • Attention to Detail: Precision in data capture and data reconciliation is vital.
    • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and process large volumes of data efficiently.
    • Self-Starter Attitude: Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and responsibility.

    • Adaptability: Resilience in handling repetitive tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Technical Skills: Previous experience with Salesforce is an asset but not essential.

    Work Requirements:

    • Available for 100 hours per month, flexible scheduling with potential for remote work.
