About the Data Analyst Role

Key Responsibilities
- Data Systems Development and Management: Develop, refine, and adapt data systems and tools to support data collection and management efforts.
- Data Analysis: Analyze youth and beneficiary data to identify trends, potential problems, and solutions. This includes managing data capture, merging multiple data sets, and providing detailed commentary to assist in decision-making.
- Capacity Building: Work with partners and administrative teams to enhance their ability to meet the data needs of the organization.
- Presentation of Data: Package data effectively for presentations and decision-making purposes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders regarding data gathering, system requirements, and data analysis.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree (or higher qualification) in Strategy Development, Management, Data Systems Development, or Data Analysis.
- At least one year of experience in a data-related field.
- Proven computer literacy and experience with data analysis tools and software.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
While not mandatory, the following qualifications and experience are highly desirable:
- A Master’s degree in Information Systems, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance.
- Experience working in the after-school sector, research, or knowledge management.
- A valid (Code B or higher) driving license is recommended. Applicants with disabilities that affect their driving abilities but have reasonable access to transportation are encouraged to apply.
Competencies Required
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of social science, information sciences, and both quantitative and qualitative analytical capabilities.
- Skills: Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and a proven ability to work with diverse teams.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer literacy, programming, and API development.
Remuneration
The position offers an annual salary of R 308,154 (Salary level 7) with an additional 37% in lieu of benefits.
