Creditors Clerk Job Description
As a Creditors Clerk at RCL Foods, you will play a critical role in managing the records of suppliers who engage in business transactions with the company. Reporting to the Creditors Controller, this role focuses on financial accuracy and ensuring smooth payment processes.
Key responsibilities
1. Invoice and Credit Memo Processing
- Match invoices and credit memos with SAP receipts in the GR/IR account.
- Ensure compliance with VAT legislation while checking invoices and credit memos.
- Verify supplier details on invoices match the Masterdata on SAP.
- Capture invoices and credit memos in the SAP system.
- Log invoice queries on the SharePoint system and follow up for resolution.
- Reconcile supplier statements and invoices against receipts or purchase orders.
2. Query Management
- Resolve all logged creditor queries and communicate solutions to relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up on long-standing queries and ensure they are resolved effectively.
- Assist with queries identified by Creditors Administration Clerks and ensure timely resolutions.
3. GRIR Management (Goods Received but Not Invoiced)
- Review GRIR balances monthly and follow up on outstanding amounts.
- Prepare GRIR journals to write off older balances.
4. General Administration
- Safeguard and file records related to creditors.
- Compile ad hoc reports, spreadsheets, and analyses when required.
- Assist the Creditors Controller or Accounts Payable Accountant with additional tasks.
Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role, you need the following:
- Matric qualification with Mathematics and Accountancy.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance (advantageous).
- 1-2 years of experience as a Creditors Clerk.
- Experience with SAP (advantageous).
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent understanding of VAT legislation.
- Strong data management and reconciliation skills.
- Proficiency in financial systems (preferably SAP).
- Problem-solving abilities, especially in handling invoice or payment queries.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
