Purpose of the Coega Internship Programme

The primary objective of the Coega Internship Programme is to provide qualified graduates with hands-on work experience. This programme is meticulously structured to ensure that interns gain practical insights and skills that will make them valuable assets in their respective fields. Over a period of 24 months, interns will be immersed in a work environment that encourages learning and professional development, helping them transition smoothly from academic life to the workplace.

Programme Mandate

The internship programme at Coega is based on a formalised and well-defined plan of activities. Each intern will receive mentorship and coaching from experienced professionals, ensuring that they are guided every step of the way. Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Coega Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be a young, vibrant, and energetic individual
• Demonstrate virtuous habits and a strong work ethic
• Be no older than 35 years old
• Have no prior work experience in the field of study

Business Units and Qualifications

1. Operations

• Location: Gqeberha
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or Logistics

2. Marketing & Communications

• Location: Gqeberha
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Communications

3. Corporate Services

• Location: Gqeberha
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or Business Administration

4. Sustainability

• Location: Gqeberha
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Business Administration or Social Sciences

5. ICT, Research and Strategy

• Location: Gqeberha
• Minimum Qualification: BCom Hons in Economics/Econometrics, Statistics/Econometrics, or a similar qualification

6. Finance

• Locations: Gqeberha, Durban, East London
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Purchasing, Public Administration/Management, or Logistics

7. NDPW – CTWN

• Location: Cape Town
• Minimum Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration/Management
