Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for the Clerk of the Consumer Court position, candidates must have:
- SAQA recognized NQF level 7 tertiary qualification in Law, Business Management, Public Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at the junior management (Assistant Director) level.
- Knowledge of the legal framework, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) 01 of 1999 and other relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, National Credit Act 34 of 2005, and other applicable legislations.
- Understanding of government budgeting processes.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities
- Manage records keeping of consumer hearings in accordance with the Mpumalanga Consumer Affairs Act.
- Distribute documents/packages to various stakeholders as required.
- Attend to all stakeholders’ enquiries and correspondences promptly.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Mediate and negotiate with suppliers of goods and services under the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, National Credit Act, 34 of 2005, and other relevant legislations to secure redress for consumers.
- Supervise team members and efficiently manage resources.
- Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of all court records.

- SMS Posts require successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme from the National School of Government.
