    This internship is open to all qualifying students residing in the Johannesburg community. To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
    • Tertiary Qualification: A relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 (either completed or currently enrolled)
    • Residency: Applicants must reside within the City of Johannesburg
    • Previous Internship Experience: Applicants should not have participated in any prior internship program

    Internship Roles and Responsibilities

    The Group Finance Department, specifically within the Revenue Shared Services Centre (RSSC), is offering internship positions in key areas such as:

    • Revenue Call Centre
    • Customer Services Centre
    • Billing and Credit Control

    As an intern in this department, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality service within the City’s revenue management and customer relations functions. Key responsibilities include:

    • Handling customer queries through the Call Centre, both telephonically and in writing.
    • Identifying and resolving revenue-related account queries at the first point of contact.
    • Escalating unresolved queries to the appropriate department for further action.
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date electronic records of customer interactions.
    • Working collaboratively with other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
    • Contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

    Internship Stipend

    The City of Johannesburg offers competitive remuneration for this internship, depending on your qualification status:

    • For students who have completed a qualification with at least 360 credits:
      R9 531.54 per month (Basic Salary, no benefits)
    • For students currently enrolled and working towards a qualification:
      R3 500.00 per month (Basic Salary, no benefits)
