Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 10.
  • Experience: 12 months of cleaning/general work experience.
  • Record: No criminal record.
  • Fitness: Must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Residency: Must be a South African residing within the City of Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities

  • Street Cleaning and Sweeping: Maintain cleanliness of streets by sweeping and picking up litter.
  • Clean All Bins: Ensure all refuse bins are cleaned and maintained.
  • Wear Protective Clothing: Always wear appropriate protective clothing while on duty.
  • Bag Distribution: Draw the correct number of bags from the store and distribute them accordingly to consumers based on services.
  • Refuse Collection: Collect refuse bags and place them on the trolley for stacking.
  • Spillage Management: Clear all spillages when bag breakage occurs.
  • Bin Delivery: Collect new/replacement bins from central stores, load them onto the delivery truck, and offload them at the place of delivery.
  • Customer Interaction: Ensure customers sign for the delivery and are issued a copy of the delivery receipt. Liaise with the public, service users, and officials from other departments to resolve complaints and queries promptly.
  • Safety and Reporting: Report all incidences related to safety, equipment, and injuries to the team leader.
  • Task Completion: Ensure daily tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other tasks as may be delegated by the supervisor.
