Requirements for the Chief Financial Officer Position:
- Educational Background: A three-year Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in the Financial Management field, or an equivalent NOF level 7 qualification recognized by SACA. A SAICA CA qualification is advantageous.
- Experience: At least six years in financial management with a minimum of five years at a senior management level.
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required.
- Certifications: Nyukela Public Service SMS Pre-entry Programme certificate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and ensure sound management of the Department’s financial operations.
- Develop financial strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the budgeting process and monitor financial performance in accordance with the PFMA.
- Ensure compliance with government financial regulations and standards.
- Provide guidance on strategic financial issues and liaise with major stakeholders including the Provincial Treasury and the Auditor-General.
