Responsibilities
Hands-On Factory Exposure
- Operate Machinery: Learn to operate and troubleshoot various types of manufacturing machinery, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes to maintain the high standards of our products, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with production teams to coordinate daily operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and addressing any issues that arise.
Comprehensive Process Involvement
- Process Design and PID: Assist in the design and development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to ensure optimal process performance.
- Process Control: Implement and monitor process control systems, making necessary adjustments to maintain efficiency and product quality.
- Data Mining and Analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential innovations. This will involve using statistical tools and software to generate insightful reports.
Research and Development
- Process Mass and Energy Balance: Conduct detailed mass and energy balance calculations to optimize processes and enhance plant efficiency.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Innovation Support: Provide both theoretical and practical support for new product development and process innovations. This includes participating in brainstorming sessions, prototyping, and testing new ideas.
Specifications and Performance Review
- Raw Material Specifications: Ensure that all raw materials meet our stringent quality standards before they enter the production process.
- Process Inputs: Monitor process inputs to ensure they align with established specifications, making adjustments as needed to maintain product consistency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Chemical Engineering.
- Honours or Masters in Chemical Engineering will be advantageous.
- A minimum average of 60% in the final year of studies.
Additional Requirements:
- Vacation or part-time work experience is a plus.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to relate to various organisational levels.
- Willingness to travel between factories and work overtime and shifts.
- Adaptability and a proactive approach in a fast-paced factory environment.
- Physical fitness to work long hours and handle the physically demanding environment.
