    Casual Catering Driver Role Summary

    Icebolethu seeks six Casual Catering Drivers to join their Catering Division, operating across six KZN locations: Empangeni, Estcourt, Hammarsdale, Kokstad, Pongola, and Umlazi. Drivers will play a vital role in ensuring seamless logistics and respectful service during funerals and related events.

    Role Responsibilities

    • Safely and efficiently collect and deliver staff and equipment to event sites.
    • Maintain punctuality—arriving before appointments to respect clients’ time.
    • Interact respectfully with bereaved families, showing courtesy and empathy.
    • Provide excellent customer service, accurately address inquiries, and uphold a professional image.
    • Adhere to all traffic laws and enforce road safety at all times.
    • Keep vehicles clean, fuelled, and mechanically sound (fluids, tyres, lights).
    • Assist with unloading and storing equipment post-event.
    • Identify vehicle issues and report them promptly.
    • Carry out other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Grade 12 (Matric).
    • Valid Code 10 or Code 14 driver’s license.
    • Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

    Experience & Knowledge

    • At least 2 years’ experience as a driver, preferably towing trailers (~2.5 m wide).
    • Good knowledge of local roads across the six listed towns.
    • Physically fit for lifting and carrying heavy objects.
    • Reliable transport to and from work.
    • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and national holidays.

    Essential Skills

    • Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
    • Competent driving skills with trailer experience.
    • Familiarity with GPS systems and basic computer usage.
    • Compassion and professionalism when interacting with clients.
