Casual Cashier Job Description
As a Casual Cashier at Dis-Chem Pharmacies, your primary responsibility will be to provide excellent customer service at the point of sale while ensuring that every transaction is recorded accurately and in compliance with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Establish professional relationships with customers and report any compliments or complaints to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
- Maintain awareness of current sales and promotions to assist customers.
- Ensure safe working conditions for colleagues and customers.
- Manage cash flow and ensure all line voids and price changes are signed off by the supervisor.
- Exchange merchandise and handle returns when authorized.
- Process all purchases and payments (cash, cards, vouchers, loyalty cards, etc.) securely.
- Ensure all transactions, including loyalty cards and promotional items, are processed correctly.
- Handle daily takings with discretion and report any suspicious behaviour.
