    Entry Requirements

    Before you start your application to Buffalo City TVET College, it is very important to make sure you have all the correct documents. Submitting incomplete or incorrect paperwork can delay your application or even lead to it being rejected.

    What You Must Have

    1. Certified Copy of Your Grade 12 Certificate
      • This certificate must be certified at a police station or by a Commissioner of Oaths.
      • The certification must be no older than 3 months at the time of application.
      • If you completed matric but do not have your certificate yet, you can use your statement of results, but it must also be certified.
    2. Certified Copy of Your South African ID Document
      • Your ID copy must also be certified within the last 3 months.
      • This applies to all South African citizens. If you are not South African, please use your passport or relevant legal documentation.
    3. Grade 12 Mathematics or Accounting (for Financial Management applicants)
      • If you are applying for Financial Management, you must have passed either Mathematics or Accounting in Grade 12.
      • This is a key requirement because the course involves numbers, budgeting, and calculations.
    4. College-Stamped Academic Records (For Returning/Rewriting Students)
      • If you have studied at Buffalo City TVET College before, or if you are reapplying or rewriting subjects, you must upload your results with a college stamp.
      • Results without a stamp will not be accepted, even if they are correct.
    5. Proof of Residence (Optional but Recommended)
      • If you are applying for NSFAS or any financial assistance, you should also upload a certified copy of your proof of residence.
      • This could be a municipal account, letter from a local councilor, or affidavit signed at a police station.
    6. Certified Guardian or Parent ID (If you are under 18)
      • Applicants who are under 18 years of age should also include a certified copy of their parent or guardian’s ID.

      Do not take pictures of your documents with your phone and upload them. These will not be accepted. Use a scanner or a phone app that can scan to PDF format, such as CamScanner or Adobe Scan.
    • Each document must be clear and readable.
      Blurry, dark, or cut-off documents will cause delays. If the admissions office cannot read your documents, your application will not be processed.
    • No USB submissions or walk-ins.
      All applications are done online only. You cannot submit physical documents at the college.
    • You must have a valid email address and cellphone number.
      The college will contact you using these. If your contact details change after you apply, you must inform the college immediately.
