Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and efficient customer service to patrons and staff
- Serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
- Operate the electronic point of sale (POS) system for processing orders and sales
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of bar equipment and service areas
- Adhere to the Western Cape Liquor Act and Baxter Theatre Bar’s code of conduct
- Manage stock control and account for inventory
- Reconcile daily sales and cash transactions
- Assist with parking duties as required
Requirements
- Matric certificate or equivalent qualification (NQF4 level)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluency in English and at least one other official language
- Ability to work well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team
- Alertness and quick thinking in emergency situations
- Strong sense of customer service
- Experience with electronic point of sale systems
Bonus (Not Required, But Nice to Have):
- 3 to 5 years of experience in food, beverage, or hospitality jobs
- Previous work in restaurants, coffee shops, or bars

Salary and Contract Details
This is an ad-hoc position, which means it’s part-time or occasional. You’ll work when the theatre has shows or events that need bar staff. The salary is between R3,000 and R6,000, depending on how many hours or shifts you work.
