Internship Role: Association Communications Intern
Purpose of the Role:
The Association Communications Intern will be an integral part of the MSF Association Unit, tasked with enhancing engagement within the MSF Southern Africa Association through various communication channels. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their knowledge and skills in communications and digital marketing while contributing to MSF’s overall mission of providing humanitarian assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Association Communications Intern, your duties will include:
- Developing and Implementing Communication Strategies:
- Collaborate with the Association Team to design and execute strategies that keep the MSF Southern Africa Association members engaged.
- Ensure that the association’s website (Inside OCB), SharePoint microsite, and social media channels are regularly updated and aligned with each other.
- Creating and Sharing Content:
- Generate and curate content that resonates with association members.
- Post engaging content on MSF’s internal and external communication platforms, ensuring that MSF’s work and objectives are communicated effectively.
- Managing Social Media:
- Work with MSF’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, to boost engagement.
- Track and grow social media engagement rates by responding to trends and proactively engaging with followers.
- Design and manage social media campaigns and promotions that raise awareness about MSF’s work and its humanitarian efforts.
- Content Management:
- Keep the Inside OCB platform and related content updated with materials sourced from both MSF’s global communications network and locally produced content.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor social media activities and measure their effectiveness, providing regular reports on engagement trends.
- Analyze social media data to inform future strategies and campaigns.
- Supporting Additional Association Activities:
- Assist with other association-related projects and initiatives, including in-person or virtual events aimed at engaging members of MSF’s Southern Africa Association.
