The primary purpose of the Artisan Attendant role is to support the Artisan/Senior Artisan Plumber with various tasks. This job involves hands-on duties to maintain and repair water systems, focusing on ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply for residents.

Key Responsibilities

This role includes a range of support tasks critical to maintaining water infrastructure:

Maintenance and Repair of Water Systems:
- Assist with routine maintenance and repairs on water reticulation systems, including trunk main systems, helping ensure that water supply remains uninterrupted.
Operation and Safety Compliance:
- Aid in operating and maintaining equipment and facilities, adhering to safety instructions to ensure compliance with all required safety standards.
Basic Backfilling and Compaction:
- Participate in preliminary backfilling and compaction of trenches or excavations, ensuring proper material use and adhering to the compaction process standards.
Pipe Work Assistance:
- Assist in installing and repairing water pipes, including connections, meters, hydrants, and sprinklers, utilizing tools like shifting spanners, pipe wrenches, and ratchets.
Traffic and Worksite Safety:
- Help set up traffic warning signs and secure worksites to ensure safety, especially when dealing with high-traffic areas.
Material Collection and Stock Management:
- Collect materials from the store and assist supervisors with inventory and stock-taking duties.
