Key Responsibilities
As an Applications Developer, you will be responsible for customizing software solutions for the administration of the University. Your key duties will include:
- Developing and supporting software programs that align with the University’s administrative needs.
- Analyzing underlying data to respond to user queries.
- Providing support for databases critical to the University’s administrative systems.
- Conducting basic Database Administration (DBA) duties as needed.
Requirements
Candidates must have:
- A three-year qualification.
- Approximately three years of relevant experience in a programming environment.
- Proficiency in developing software using either C# or web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and JSON.
- Experience working with APIs.
- Knowledge of PHP would be an added advantage.
Remuneration
- Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R440 529
- Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R584 474
Rhodes University may appoint the successful candidate on a fixed-term contract of not less than three years, although the role is advertised as a permanent position. The University reserves the right to decide the terms of the contract.
