    About the Geomatics – Mine Survey Role?

    As a Geomatics: Mine Survey Graduate, you will embark on a three-year journey where you’ll be at the forefront of mining technology and innovation. This programme provides you with hands-on experience and opportunities to apply your academic knowledge in real-world scenarios. The primary focus of this programme is to help you develop skills in spatial data collection, analysis, and management to support mine planning and development.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Data Collection and Analysis: You will engage in gathering and interpreting spatial data essential for effective mine planning and development.
    • Surveying Technologies: Gain proficiency in cutting-edge surveying tools such as GPS, LiDAR, and drones, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of mining operations.
    • Compliance: Ensure that mine surveys comply with environmental and regulatory standards, prioritising safety and sustainability in all operations.
    • Collaboration: Work alongside industry professionals, providing them with precise data for decision-making processes that improve safety and operational efficiency.
    • Rotational Experience: Rotate between multiple Anglo American Platinum mining operations in locations such as Thabazimbi, Mokopane, and Burgersfort. This exposure will allow you to experience diverse mining environments, both open-cast and underground.

    Requirements

    To apply for the Geomatics: Mine Survey Graduate Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

    • Degree Requirements: A Bachelor of Science in Geomatics or a Bachelor of Mine Surveying (Honours) completed within the last 12 months, or you must be due to graduate by December 2024.
    • Work Experience: No more than 12 months of post-qualification work experience.
