AgriSETA is inviting applications for three Information Communication Technology (ICT) Internships aimed at equipping individuals with invaluable workplace experience in IT administrative and technical support. This opportunity is part of AgriSETA’s Corporate Services Division, based at their Head Office in Pretoria. Job Overview
The ICT Internship Programme is designed for qualified graduates who wish to gain hands-on experience in implementing, monitoring, and upgrading IT systems, both hardware and software. Reporting to the Lead Specialist: IT Infrastructure, the interns will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless IT support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will be exposed to a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- End-User Support:
- Act as the first point of contact for internal IT support.
- Handle verbal, email, and phone queries, ensuring these are logged on the helpdesk system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop hardware/software issues.
- Hardware and Software Maintenance:
- Install and upgrade standard hardware and software systems.
- Assist with basic system management and routine security updates for endpoint devices.
- Training and Guidance:
- Provide training and functional support for departments needing assistance with technology systems.
- ICT Governance and Risk Management:
- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of anti-virus and malware protection systems.
- Assist with cybersecurity awareness campaigns and remediating ICT vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to ICT risks, governance, and operational management projects.
- Technical Problem Resolution:
- Identify and report technical issues for resolution and escalate complex problems to senior support staff.
- Inventory and Documentation:
- Maintain and update the department’s inventory tracking system.
- Ensure full documentation is kept for logged calls and technical resolutions.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background:
- A National Diploma or NQF Level 6 qualification in Information Technology.
- Certification in A+, N+, and MCSE/Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
- Additional Advantage:
- ITIL and COBIT foundation certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience:
- No prior working experience is required.
